Danny Rampling

Through his legendary 80s acid house club Shoom and renowned radio shows on BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM, Danny played a pivotal role in the development of the UK dance music scene.

In an impressive career that spans three decades, Danny Rampling has sold over a million compilation records, picked up several awards including the No. 1 spot on DJ Magazine’s famed Top 100 poll and held DJ residences at legendary clubs in Ibiza including Pacha, Amnesia, and Privilege.
Danny is regularly featured on TV documentaries for National Geographic, the BBC, MTV and many others thanks to his unrivalled music knowledge and expertise. As such, he really is a household name, and it is fair to say without his invaluable contribution, the musical landscape of the White Isle and back home in the UK would be very different.

In addition to his music career, Rampling is the author of the best-selling book ‘Everything You Need To Know About DJing & Success’ and runs his own music consultancy working on film fashion shows and TV advertising campaigns.
2017 saw Rampling appointed as a consultant and voluntary member of the Mayor of London’s night time music committee and featured in the Sky TV documentary ‘The Agony & the Ecstasy’. Spanning 30 years, this eye-opening three-part series explored the history of dance music and rave culture in the UK.

In 2018 he was asked to contribute as music consultant for a new production, penned by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh, and re-telling the legend of the birth of acid house and rave.

He is also contributing to a new film written by award-winning screenwriter Dean Cavanagh, working title ‘Ibiza 87’, loosely based around the influential DJs Nicky Holloway, Paul Oakenfold and Danny Rampling. The production will chronicle the beginnings of the rave movement, from the trio’s fateful Ibiza trip in 1987 to the second ‘summers of love’ in 88-89.
In December 2017 Rampling’s pioneering club night Shoom celebrated their 30th anniversary with a monumental event at London’s Pulse club.

Shoom returned to Paradiso club in Amsterdam to a sell-out fantastic New Year’s celebration in 2018, and will be taken to clubs around the world throughout 2019 and beyond along with a Shoom compilation album to be produced and released in 2019.

The 42 year old from Kent has played his blend of house music to the masses across the globe at some of the hottest venues and parties in existence. A regular fixture on the White Isle having played nearly all the major super clubs and leading bars the island has to offer including in Space, Sankeys, Amnesia, Privilege, Benimussa Zoo, El Divino, Ibiza Rocks, Es Paradis & Eden as well as Printworks, Tobacco Dock, Brixton 02 Academy, Studio 338, Ministry of Sound, Xoyo, Electric Brixton, Turnmills, The Cross, The End, Lightbox and Fire in the UK.

In the UK he regularly DJs for Random, Clockwork Orange, Club Class, The Source Maidstone and Kinky Malinki. During the summer months you can see him join the festival circuit with appearances at Clockstock, Creamfields South, Mambo Classics Festivals, Summertime Live Festival, Dream Valley Festival and Lets Love Life Festival.

Highlights of his productions include Ibiza Dreams & Passionate on Kinky Malinki recordings, Perfect Sunrise on Toolroom Records, hot re edits of artists such La Roux, Florence & The Machine and Chase & Status. His re edits of 187 Lockdown – Gunman & Love Station – Teardrops can still be heard frequently on Kiss 100. Other releases include Electronic Youth & Tristan Ingram collaborations with Need You & Dirty Money and with Mike Mac – Cupid Stunt. His music is supported by the leaders in the scene including Carl Cox, Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold & Mark Knight to name a few.

In 2007 Tristan set up his own night Random. Random is a respected and hugely admired club night that takes place in Ibiza, London & Maidstone for the last 15 years. Warming up for Ryan McDermott is our local hero, Foley. Foley is an incredibly talented DJ/Producer residing in Lancashire.

Foley has seen his productions released on non-other than the powerhouse of dance music labels Toolroom Records! Foley will draw on all his knowledge and delivery a “retrospective of house music” style set full of top tunes that would be heard round the classiest Ibiza swimming pools.

Foley was recently shortlisted as a finalist in Defected’s Unsung Hero’s DJ Competition out of 4000 entrants.

Although my initial journey into music was through the guitar, I was introduced to house music by a friend in 2008 and immediately bought some cheap turntables to start mixing in my bedroom.

Initially taken with the melodic and progressive styles on labels like Bedrock and Renaissance, I soon found lots to love across the whole spectrum of electronic music. Due to family and other commitments my interest in DJing waned over the years but like so many others I found it a welcome distraction during the early days of Covid, and started streaming sets online, firstly on my own and then as part of DJ collective ERAVE365.

You can usually find me playing lots of deep house and techno, but just as at home playing a wide range from house to trance. I enjoy taking people on a journey with a few surprises thrown in, and look forward to opening the show in July!
